Gabrielli Pessanha celebrates 150 unbeaten fights and announces that she will compete in the IBJJF No-Gi World Championship in December.

Gabrielli Pessanha, a black belt under Master Márcio de Deus and undoubtedly the greatest female name in the history of the sport, continues to break records. After winning her eighth IBJJF World title, becoming the first sergeant in the Brazilian Air Force’s High Performance Athlete Program, and winning “The Crown” for two consecutive years, the star from Cidade de Deus reached the incredible milestone of 150 undefeated matches in gi competitions.

Gabi, who hasn’t tasted defeat since 2021, posted on her Instagram about the milestone and how fulfilled she feels with the achievement: “I confess that I imagined living special moments through jiu-jitsu, but living what I experience today and achieving everything I’ve been accomplishing, I never imagined even half of it. I know that I wouldn’t have reached this incredible feat on my own, I know I wouldn’t have challenged myself to be better every day. Without special people motivating me, I wouldn’t have been able to do it. There are times when it’s hard to believe: 150 undefeated matches” – Gabrielli Pessanha on Instagram.

However, many have been questioning and pressuring her about when she would compete without the gi, and the wait has finally come to an end. That’s because Gabi, also on Instagram, announced that she will compete in the IBJJF No-Gi World Championship, taking place from December 12th to 14th at the Convention Center in Las Vegas, in the Adult Black Belt Super Heavyweight category.

The last time Gabrielli competed in a no-gi tournament was eight years ago, in 2016, at the CBJJ Brazilian Championship, when she was still a blue belt and pursuing her dream of becoming what she is today, etching her name in the history of the sport.
