Kaynan Duarte defeats Roberto Jimenez and challenges Nicky Rod: “Sign the contract”; Results from WNO 25.

Yesterday, on the 4th, in Houston, Texas, the Who’s Number One 25 took place, featuring some great matches that shook up the scene. In the main event, Kaynan Duarte managed to stay on top of the organization’s heavyweight division by defeating the very talented Roberto Jimenez with a dominant performance.

Kaynan, who has had an impeccable second half of 2024 by winning the Double Gold at ADCC, closes his year with another impactful victory and has already set the stage for a superfight early next year. This is because the ATOS BJJ black belt took advantage of the microphone after the win and challenged Nicky Rod, the current CJI champion and one of the sport’s first millionaires: “I was supposed to face Nicky Rodriguez, but he didn’t sign the contract. So, Nicky, sign the contract.”

Kaynan also took the opportunity to take a jab at Gordon Ryan, with whom he will have the superfight at ADCC 2026: “I also want to face Gordon. I was supposed to fight him in two years, but I believe he won’t show up.”

In the co-main event, the tough Pedro Marinho defeated Izaak Micheel by decision in a hard-hitting battle and retained his WNO light heavyweight title with Gracie Barra. In the second title fight of the night, Adele Fornarino submitted Sophia Cassela and claimed the event’s strawweight title.

Another highlight of the night was the fight between Brazilians Daniel Sathler and Fabyury Khrystyan. The matchup was, by far, the best of the night, featuring frantic movement from start to finish and immense effort from both athletes, leaving the live audience in awe. It was Fabyury who came out on top, winning the bout by decision.
